Joint Ops™ is an integrated selectable-surface bench platform in development. It preserves a familiar Standard Flat Bench mode for specificity and conventional use, then adds a performance mode built around deliberate contact geometry, shoulder and upper-arm clearance, lumbar relationship, seat position, and repeatable setup.

Joint Ops™ does not ask coaches or lifters to choose a side. It gives the same platform two legitimate jobs.

When a test, competition, combine, or technical practice happens on a conventional planar surface, specificity matters. When the training objective calls for designed contact geometry and a coordinated setup relationship, the surface should be selectable too.

The Standard Flat Bench is a defined baseline used throughout sport, testing, powerlifting, and training culture. Joint Ops™ preserves it because the exact environment matters when the goal is to perform in that exact environment.

The Baseline Should Not Be the Only Question.

One flat plane cannot be the only available relationship for thousands of bodies, training histories, and program intentions. A selectable interface makes contact geometry another programmable equipment variable.

The selection concept

The Exercise Stays Familiar. The Active Surface Changes.

The current prototype uses a rotating, indexed torso assembly to place either surface in the active user-contacting position.

That mechanism is a working embodiment—not a promise that every production detail will remain identical. DFM is evaluating the most durable, intuitive, serviceable, and manufacturable path while preserving the same central function: selectable surface intent on one bench.

More than a reversible pad

Surface Selection Is Only the Beginning.

Joint Ops™ treats the back, lumbar, and seat as a coordinated athlete-positioning system rather than unrelated adjustment features.

Changing one relationship can alter the others. The design objective is to help coaches and lifters select a coherent setup for the athlete, exercise angle, and training intention instead of compensating for a fixed platform one cue at a time.

Carry Both Surface Intentions From Flat Into Incline.

The selectable torso section is designed to remain functional as the back assembly moves through flat, incline, and intermediate positions. That matters because the contact surface should not become irrelevant as soon as the bench leaves zero degrees.

Current design target: visible indexed back-angle positions around 20°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 75°. Final angles and markings require production validation.

One Platform Should Not Force One Contact Condition.

The current prototype demonstrates both surfaces across familiar pressing applications while preserving the larger goal: a configurable relationship between athlete, surface, back, lumbar, and seat.

No. Joint Ops™ is a functional prototype platform in DFM refinement and validation. The priority list is for updates and qualification, not a preorder. The Launch Pad® is the available-now Performance Interface™ product.
Is there a final release date or price?
No final public release date or price is being promised. Both depend on validated production engineering, supplier economics, quality requirements, pilot feedback, and manufacturing readiness.
Does Joint Ops™ replace the Standard Flat Bench?
No. Preserving a conventional planar mode is central to the platform. Standard Flat Bench practice remains useful when specificity, standardized testing, or familiar conventional use is the goal.
How does the selectable surface work?
The current prototype uses a rotating, indexed torso assembly that selectively places either the planar surface or the contoured performance surface into the active user-contacting position. The production mechanism may evolve during DFM while preserving the same functional choice.
What adjusts besides the surface?
The platform coordinates the back-angle assembly, lumbar relationship, seat angle, and seat fore-aft position. Final ranges, position counts, assistance, hardware, and markings remain subject to validation.
Do the three Launch Pad® studies prove Joint Ops™ outcomes?
No. The studies evaluated The Launch Pad®. They support the broader conclusion that changing the athlete-to-bench interface can change measurable outcomes under specific protocols, but they do not automatically establish Joint Ops™ results.
Is Joint Ops™ being researched?
Prototype research is in progress, but no Joint Ops™ study result is claimed here. Results will not be promoted until the work is completed, reviewed, and approved for public use.
Will the production bench look exactly like the prototype?
Not necessarily. The prototype proves function and exposes design requirements. Production geometry, weight, wheels, handle, storage support, adjustment hardware, assistance, branding, finish, attachments, and service features may change through DFM.
Can facilities request a pilot or multi-unit conversation?
Yes. The facility pathway gathers room requirements, athlete population, station count, floor plan, storage, staff education, procurement, branding, and timeline. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee a pilot allocation.
Can a manufacturer or OEM discuss licensing or integration?
Yes. Qualified companies can begin a high-level fit conversation around manufacturing, OEM integration, co-development, licensing, component supply, or distribution. Detailed technical disclosure follows alignment and appropriate confidentiality.
